What a week! We're exhausted. Friday eve, we sat around doing very little. And we received an early Christmas present in the post from Leigh&Ed&bump in the post: a selection of all our favourite South African treats! What an awesome way to kick of the weekend :)
On Saturday we tried to sort out the flat a bit, and I made the Christening cake.
Saturday eve, we went to Joanne and Willie's where we were supposed to put up her Christmas tree, but we ended up watching x-factor and having a few g&ts instead. Sunday morning we went to the christening and the lunch after and then Sunday night we went to see the Ratpack Christmas special in Belfast. It was amazing, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was unbelievable how much they looked and sounded like the original Ratpack! We stayed over at Barry and Harp's place.
On Tuesday evening, straight after work, I went to Ikea and then met Karl at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast for dinner AND some Lionel Ritchie. I'll be honest, I'm not really a Lionel Ritchie fan, but Karl loves him and his mom gave him 2 tickets for his birthday. I must say, I know more Lionel songs that I thought I did and it was thoroughly enjoyable - we had such a good time! We are lucky to have such accommodating family, cos we once again made use of Barry & Harps yet again. 10/10 for hosting skills :)
Wednesday eve we had Sinead and Hugh over for dinner, a hearty beef stew, a fire place and good friends are a good way to chase away the winter blues. We also finally bought a tv, so got that all hooked up and sorted out, it looks bigger in our livingroom than in the shop!!
Last night we had pizza and sticky toffee pudding around at Hugh & Sinead's and we were supposed to go to the Christmas Market with them today, but to be honest, we were too tired to get out of bed early on our day off! So we slept in and got up and had a much-needed gym session! Trying to do some prep for an interview I have this week, and then we're off to Joanne & Willie's this eve (for some more baking).
Its staying darker later in the mornings, and some evenings by 4pm, its dark - I kid you not. The one consolation is that after the 21st December, things start to brighten up - literally. Its cold here, very cold, like -5 cold. And most mornings, I'm greeted by this icy patch...
And lastly, since this is not gonna happen for the next 86 years (apparently), I couldn't resist...

Looks like a fun week! Esp when it starts off with some candy! Yum :)
