I have been reeling from a lost friendship. I have tried to convince myself that I know that my friend has so much going on in her life and doesn't know which way is up at the moment. I have been there, so I know. I have called her and sent her supportive messages, just letting her know that I can help and that I'm here. But nothing. And it hurts. A lot. And as I was praying and meditating over it this morning, I felt God revealing a part of His heart to me. How He aches and longs for us to be connected to Him and to have an intimate and caring relationship with Him. But life gets crazy and there are days when I don't have a quiet time, or set time aside to be thankful for every single blessing. And it hurts Him too. I felt Him saying. I. Am. Here. Waiting. So as I surrender my hurt and my mourning to Him, may I remember to continually be rooted in Him, to remain under the shadow of His wings. And to be mindful that it hurts Him when I lock him out of my decisions, my day-to-day stuff and the bigger things in life.
