I was born in the 80s in a tiny town called Oranjemund, Namibia.
When I was 13, I went to high school and boarding school in Cape Town.
After high school, I attended the University of Cape Town and completed my Honours in Criminal Justice (and later, my Masters).
After graduating, I was offered a job in Namibia in my field and worked there for a year before packing up and moving back to the Mother City.
In January 2007, I travelled to London on my working holiday visa for 18 months.
During that time, I met my husband through a mutual friend at a fancy dress party.
After our first date in Paris, Karl was hooked ;)
I left London at the end of May 2008, and literally just stepped off the plane before getting back on another one for a job interview in Pretoria.
After I was offered the job, I decided to take it and not to return to London.
Karl came to visit me in Pretoria for Christmas 2008 and 6 months later he moved to South Africa.
A few months after that, we moved to Cape Town and settled there (or so we thought)
We were married on 20 November 2010.
And on 2 August 2011, we moved back to Northern Ireland.
I enjoy good conversation and laughing till it hurts! I make good chocolate brownies and chicken pie. I love my husband. I like the snow. And I like long walks to the waterfall. I’m not really a singer, but I do attempt the piano and the guitar on occasion. Love spending time with friends and family! I have settled in Northern Ireland with my husband and decided that blogging was a better way to share my journey, thoughts, experiences and photos with the people I love.
